Railway Solutions

Our goal is to favour the mobility of people and goods in order to connect different countries, economies, and cultures. We operate wherever the passage of a train, tram or metro is necessary. In other words, in every corner of the world.

⦁ Which type of plant is best suited to complete the line in the required time?
⦁ Does the metro line pass beneath sensitive buildings or ones of historical or artistic value?
⦁ Is an electronic or electromechanical signaling system preferable?
Every answer throws open the doors to infinite possibilities and it isn’t easy to orient oneself. Our compass indicates three fundamental directions to us each and every day:
⦁ Competence that comes from years of experience and international partnership, in the railway sector, synergistically integrated product lines that cover the sector’s various needs, and a youthful, qualified team that is constantly looking for innovative solutions.

⦁ Transparency, through a work method that puts the client in the position to make aware choices.

⦁ Excellence, thanks to an all-around service that covers all possible needs in the sector: not only design, production, laying and maintenance, but also support and assistance in the event that the client wishes to undertake the realization of the works autonomously.

Our Railway Super Structure.
⦁ A country’s railway network must enhance the circulation of people and goods, link up the main economic and social centers and contribute to development. Therefore, the line and consequently the superstructure must serve its environment.
⦁ It must not impose on it, but respect it and increase its potential.
⦁ Consequently, it may be necessary to adopt different solutions along different sections of the route or identify one type of superstructure which is suitable for the whole line.
⦁ We can help the client to make the right choice and translate that choice into a concrete reality.
Floating Slab System
This is a type of superstructure made up of a cast-in-place reinforced concrete slab, with embedded prefabricated elements (e.g. sleepers) and a seamless bed laid under the cast concrete. This system is adopted when it is important to drastically reduce vibrations. As a result, it is suitable for stations or other areas where the line runs through the heart of the city.
Railway Sleepers
Sleepers represent the type of superstructure which is traditionally the most widely used throughout the world for railway lines. They require a lower initial investment compared to ballastless systems and naturally favour the drainage of rainwater and noise abatement. However, ballast, by nature, has a tendency to shift: this means that maintenance operations, although simple, have to be carried out at frequent intervals to tamp the ballast and adjust rail geometries over time.

Railway Bridges
We have the expertise to engineer a system for railway bridges and viaducts which makes it possible to have a single element that encompasses both a structural function, usually performed by the decking, as well as that of the railway superstructure, normally performed by the sleepers and ballast. The system’s strong points:
⦁ reduced time frame to replace existing structures, with minimum upheaval to rail traffic
⦁ reduction in the height and weight of the works and, therefore, an increase in head clearance while maintaining unchanged all functional characteristics of the line
⦁ improved vibration damping
⦁ negotiable for road vehicles: the concrete surface of the slabs is seamless and fully pedestrian-friendly and, in the event of an emergency, is also negotiable for road vehicles
⦁ significant reduction in maintenance required and consequently a lower product life cycle cost.

Our engineering is based on concrete experience gained in the field and on the technical know-how of products, their applications and production process. Our engineering departments are specialized in different levels of engineering and are dedicated to specific product lines.
For superstructures, for example, we can execute preliminary, definitive and executive engineering, based on the relative technical specifications and sector standards in force in the country of execution.
Our level crossing machines, are recognized for their high safety standards, are the result of continual investments into research and development.
In the field of railway, metro and tramway superstructures, our experience of products and processes allows us to work alongside the client in the production stages, or create the necessary conditions for manufacturing concrete elements (sleepers, switch bearers, slabs) directly and locally.
Our sleeper manufacturing systems are built, producing moulds in accordance with the specifications dictated by the engineering department which, thanks to various collaborations in the engineering of systems, is able to successfully tackle the characteristics of any project.
For each system for manufacturing railway sleepers, one of our specialized teams intervenes locally in the assembly of the lines and the machinery, supporting the client right up to the time of system commissioning. The same also applies (with different methods) to our switch machines and our level crossings. With BUSINESS NEX HEALTHCARE LTD, you are never alone: we only hand over a product or a system to the client when it is perfectly operational.
We have the technology and knowledge in the laying of both ballastless and traditional concrete sleeper type superstructure systems. The project is engineered to reduce operating times on the line to an absolute minimum, manufacturing the elements and most of the construction steps in the production plant.
In the case of superstructures, and for all the work stages, from engineering, to production and to laying of the system, Business Nex Healthcare Ltd can also simply provide the client with the necessary assistance for coordinating the operations providing support in the various activities envisaged in the project, using our specialized resources to assist the local work force.
Assistance is a service conceived specifically to meet the needs of clients who need an experienced partner, keeping costs down and promoting the use of local manpower to promote the economic development of the areas involved in the project.
Last but not least, we are able to support the client in maintaining our products, with a regular post-sales service for manufacturing systems, specialized maintenance for level crossings, as well as revamping and upgrading operations for railway cars.
The innovation of our proposal is not only in the product offered, but also in the operating method. Our philosophy is focused on working with the client to identify the best solution for every situation, starting with a context survey and the identification of key variables.
Our working method starts with a problematic approach to the need. Experience has taught us to question everything we do: we complicate our life to make sure it is simpler for our clients.
We follow a practice, which has been perfected over the years, made up of three fundamental aspects:

Informative briefing:
with our client we share the objectives, time schedules and methods; knowing and understanding all the variables involved, we ask the client some simple questions so that we can formulate the most effective proposals.

Thought-out proposals:
the offer which follows the briefing clearly explains the project choices, illustrates the technical datasheets of the products, puts forwards a number of case histories and ends with clear and transparent costing.

Freedom of choice:
being as we offer a wide range of solutions, we are not restricted to offering one particular type of product but can offer the right mix of solutions to meet the project requirements.

⦁ Improving existing railway material
⦁ Studying and commissioning of innovative railway components
⦁ Specialized designing of customized wagons and peripheral equipment
⦁ Studying and manufacturing spare parts of older railway material
⦁ Developing customized solutions for industrial sector.
All the Design, Prototyping, Verification and Validation activities are concentrated in our Research Centres. Here our technicians and mechanical, electronics and civil engineers work shoulder to shoulder with the shared goal of constantly improving the existing products and designing new solutions to offer the railway sector market.
Our R&D processes are based on continuously increasing our know-how, while our field experience is the underpinning of our ability to innovate.
We also rely on university excellence, setting up specific collaborations for the development and validation of products and projects.
